… actually happened quite some time ago.

The 2008 drama “Hanami – Cherry Blossoms” from (really fabulous) german director Doris Dörrie tells the story of an old couple from Bavaria. Trudi always wanted to be a famous Butoh dancer but sacrificed this dream for having a family. But when her husband is diagnosed with a deadly disease, things start to take a strange turn.

I won’t spoiler, as you really should watch the whole movie and participate in their journey as it happens.

But I’d like to share the one most haunting scene from that film, that moved me beyond anything: Their dance in front of mount Fuji. This is just one of those rare great moments in filmhistory. Enjoy.
